Chielmex was walking down the long halls of the castle. She sighed, and leaned forward. "I can't believe I'm all alone!" she shouted angrily. "Just because...I don't understand my powers yet..." she added softly. All of the other nobodies were currently practicing with their weapons, trying to get a feel for their abilities and limitations.
FLASH BACK
"Okay! I want you all to head down to the training facility." Shirix shouted in authority," I don't need all of you wandering around, or sitting on your lazy nonexistent butts all day!" There was a melee of different replies, some colorful, some cheerful, and some who sounded like they really just didn't care. However, most of them were lost in the din. Chielmex walked quietly towards Xelcan and Shirix, who were currently talking to one another.
"Jeeze, your voice really carries in this room...." Xelcan murmured, smiling softly.
"Heh, that's kind of the point, Sugar Boogar," she replied, placing a hand on his shoulder.Chielmex cleared her throat softly, hoping to get their attention.
"Hm?" the superiors turned at the sound, seeing a meek looking number XXIV.
"Oh, hey there!" Xelcan greeted cheerfully. Shirix nodded her hello in a friendly manner and lifted her hand in a slight wave. Chielmex nodded back curtly, remembering her manners for once.
"Err...What should I do?" Chielmex asked quietly. It was no secret to the superiors, and other high ranking members that Chielmex hadn't yet learned about her powers. She also wasn't as familiar in the art of battle as the other Nobodies, even though her temper and threats contradicted that. Xelcan and Shirix looked at each other, their gaze filled with a silent, but full conversation. They turned back to Chielmex.
"I guess you'll have to sit this one out," Xelcan said, resting a hand on Chielmex's crimson hair, ruffling it slightly. Shirix stepped forward.
" I know this is new, and it's not that easy," she said, " But soon, you will have to learn how to use your powers. Okay?"
"I - yeah..." Chielmex murmured. Shirix hummed a reply, and began her trek to the training room. Chielmex blushed slightly, knowing she probably wasn't a perfect example of a Nobody.
" Don't worry," Xelcan said reassuringly," It'll all come to you soon." He ruffled Chielmex's hair once more. Then, he too walked off, quickly catching up to Shirix.
END OF FLASH BACK
The Phantom Butterfly sighed again, her bare shoulders sagging even more. "I wish I wasn't so useless...."
"You aren't useless," Chielmex spun around, nearly running straight into Foxeia.
"You scared me, Vix!" Chielmex half-shouted, hand on her chest. "And I...totally just stated the obvious, didn't I?" she asked, running a hand through her hair, resting it on the back of her neck.
"Well, yes, but," Foxeia paused. " Doesn't everyone do that from time to time?" Chielmex grunted a reply, and they both began to walk aimlessly down the hallways. They walked in silence for about ten minutes, then Foxeia began to notice Chielmex kept glancing at her. "Yes?" she asked, turning to face the younger nobody.
"Um, why aren't you sparring with the others right now?" Chielmex asked, looking up. Foxeia shrugged slightly.
"I was for a while, but I came to check up on you, and keep you company." She returned to looking forward. "And besides, this place can be pret-ty boring when you're just by yourself." Chielmex grinned, and slug her arm around Foxeia's shoulders. It was a difficult task, considering Foxeia was a little under a foot taller than her. Foxeia smiled indulgently, and returned the one-armed hug.
"Thanks! I think having someone like you around keeps me from being depressed. I mean, I never have any good thoughts when I think too much!" the redhead chimed "You know?" Foxeia smiled, almost sadly. It definitely wasn't normal for someone to think that way.
"I'm sure you get bored when everyone is sparring, am I right?" Foxeia asked. Chielmex nodded, linking her hands behind her head. "So, how about I help you? With your powers I mean." Chielmex's face glowed with awe.
"REALLY?!" she shouted, unlacing her hands. Foxeia nodded. "Oh, thank you! Thank you!" Chielmex cried, throwing herself against the taller nobody in a hug.
. . .
"Soooo...What are we doing exactly?" Chielmex asked, rocking back and forth on her heels. She had a curious look on her face, as she balanced her glasses (which she didn't really need) on the tip of her nose. They were currently in an empty area away from the castle, but still in view of it.
" Well, I was thinking that maybe your powers haven't really started working, because you feel to safe around the other Nobodies," Foxeia said, rubbing her hands together.
"Safe?" Chielmex asked, curiousity and slight nervousness dripping from her words.
"Yes. I believe that you don't feel threatened by the other members in battle. Therefore, you subconsciously don't use your powers. You know, because the others wouldn't intentionally hurt you," Foxeia replied, " You see?" Chielmex nodded.
"I think that makes sense," Chielmex said, nipping at her index finger in thought, "Actually," she said after a few moments, "That makes perfect sense." She giggled and rocked back and forth some more. "So, what I'm I going to fight?" the redhead asked cheerfully.
Foxeia looked a little more serious, "Heartless," she answered. Another fact that some of the other Nobodies may or may not know, was that Chielmex was terrified of Heartless. Needless to say, it was a very strange thing for a Nobody to fear them, but then again, Chielmex was a very strange Nobody.
Chielmex froze, her glasses falling off of her face. Her eyes went wide, and her lips parted. "B-but...I - I can't!" Chielmex said hurriedly, ready to run back into the castle. Foxeia was right, it was a lot safer there!
"Don't worry, you'll only fight one! And I'm right here, worst case scenerio, I'll destroy it for you," Foxeia said, stepping forward. Chielmex sighed, and turned to face the castle. She looked down at her hands, they now only had square bandaids on them. She gently picked at the edges, before ripping them off completly. Looking down at her tattoos for the first time in a long while, she clenched her hands until her knuckles popped. Sighing again, her shoulders showing most of it, she looked back to Foxeia. With an unusually calm and serious face she replied:
"Okay. Let's do this."
"Hm....I wonder what they're doing..." Xelcan breathed. Shirix looked up at the other superior with a puzzled expression. She got up and walked over to the window Xelcan was looking out of. Nialexdel looked up from the book she was reading, but didn't stand up from her chair.
"Huh. It looks like Numbers XX and XXIV are starting something up," Shirix said, leaning against the window frame. Nialexdel stood up this time to join them at the window.
All three of them watched silently. This could be interesting.
"Alright! Are you ready?" Foxeia asked, standing quite aways away from Chielmex.
"Yup!" Chielmex called back, trying miserably to sound confident. Foxeia stood in concentration, summoning a Heartless halfway between the Phantom Butterfly and herself. A shadowy portal swirled around on the ground, before opening wider to allow a creature of the night to tear its way through. Chielmex bit her lip nervously as the heartless scuttled and slithered it's way towards her. "Vix! I can't! I can't!" she shouted.
"Yes you can! I know you can!" Foxeia shouted back. The Heartless took a viscious swipe at Chielmex, and she jumped back quickly. Landing in a crouching position, her right hand slamed against the ground hard, with her palm down. Her generally sparkling eyes went hazy, and her right hand became warm. Chielmex looked down at the said hand, and gasped as she saw her red tattoo sinking from the top of her hand onto her palm. The Heartless dove at her again, and she cried out in pain as it connected with her. The Heartless crushed her glasses as it landed. Foxeia called lava to her hands, and got ready to attack.
Chielmex stood up slowly, firmly, with her right hand tense. Her bangs covered her eyes, but the cold fury her eyes now held was obvious, even in their hidden state. A crooked, almost psychotic grin broke out across her face. She stepped back on her right leg, and brought her right arm back. The Heartless rushed her again, and with a cry of anger, Chielmex slammed her open palm against the Heartless' chest.
"...!" Foxeia let the lava disappear as the Heartless let out a shriek of agaonizaing pain. The same butterfly pattern on Chielmex's hand appeared on the Heartless, exactly where she struck. It expanded to five times its original size, and turned many different reds. The Heartless shrieked once more and thrashed around. Then, something peculiar happened. The Heartless was being pulled into the vortex the butterfly had created. It began to disappear into itself, until it was gone completely. The two Nobodies stood silently for a few seconds until realization hit.
"You did it!" Foxeia shouted, jogging briskly over to the redhead. Chielmex grinned her cheerful grin, then her eyes closed as she teetered over. Foxeia gasped and broke into a run, catching the shorter Nobody. "Hey!" she shouted, shaking Chielmex slightly, "HEY!"
. . .
Chielmex groaned, and brought the back of her hand to her forehead. Groaning again, she tried to roll over.
"Mornin'," came a nonchalant voice. Chielmex shot up, her eyes incredibly wide. She spun her head around so quickly, physics say it should have snapped.
"Morning!?" Chielmex shouted. The blankets she was under pooled around her waist, and she noted her coat was gone. Paying more attention to her guest, she realizaed it was Xati, who was sitting in her desk chair with a cig balancing dangerously low between his lips.
"Tha' is wot I said," he replied, leaning the chair on only two legs. He turned the small television Chielmex had on her table off, and faced her.
"B-but! It was only early afternoon when...wait... Are you telling me I slept away my whole evening?!" Chielmex asked, a look of horror on her face.
"Mmmm...well, it's been jus' a bit more than one evenin'..." Xati replied, rocking the chair back and forth. He took a moment to blow out a puff of smoke. " 's been more lioke four..." Chilemex's eyes widened even more, and her mouth opened slightly in surprise. Xati leaned over, and placed his fingertips under her jaw, and she quickly snapped it shut. She knew full well that doing that made her look like an idiot. She pulled the sheets over her head, and slammed back down onto the bed.
"..."
"..."
"..."
"So," Xati started, looking at the nobody shaped lump under the sheets, "Are y' feelin' any be''er?" Chielmex hummed a reply. "Oh," Xati paused to pull something out of the pocket of his blue jeans. "Liemyx told me t' give this to y'," he set down a bottle of some kind of liquid on her nightstand. "She said it'd make y' feel be''er."
"..." Xati sighed when he got no responce. It seemed he wasn't dealing with the cheerful Chielmex. He walked towards the door. "...wait...." Xati paused, his hand on the door handle. He looked back. He saw Chielmex peeking out from under the sheets.
"Mm?" Xati questioned, almost smiling at the sight.
"Thanks...for you know...watching over me," she said quietly.
"No probl'm," he replied. He took a drag from his cig and blew out a long puff of smoke, sending it to Chielmex's bed. It quickly assumed the form of a cat, and came to a rest on the redhead's legs. She smiled softly at the smoky animal, and looked up to thank Xati. But, it seemed as though he had already left. She smiled again, then laid back down.

This is a fantastic desciption though - now I know how her ability works, I'll be able to draw her using it if the mood takes me

And, cool! Yeah, I realized I didn't really explain her powers very well, so here's the thing. but, I figured, because it semmed pretty powerful, that she could only use it so much, and it puts her in a vulnerable state. That way, it wouldn't seem like she had infinate strength or something.
Yeah, an inordinately powerful attack that had no adverse side-affects on her would be way too Mary Sue-ish. Showing that it does drain her is fantastic! Obviously, as she gains experiance, it isn't going to tax her so heavily, but she's definitely not someone who should blithely try and solo against a powerful adversary... At least, that's the impression I'm getting.
Am I right?

And yes, that's exactly it. I hate it when people have their characters be this all mighty God when it somes to their attacks, because then, it just makes a story boring. I think I'll have little thinks that she can do with her powers, instead of just one big attack (i.e. making stuff disappear around the castle, and what not.)
Making things disapper and reappear randomly around the castle? Ooh, nice! You know how much fun our favourite nutcase can have with that sorta controlled havoc!
